Smoothie Success!

To really supercharge your smoothie

think about adding in a few different things to make a massive difference to the nutritional content. Make sure its a veggie base with a bit of fruit and then mix it up with a range of different things. Alternate between water, coconut milk, coconut water, almond milk, hemp milk.......the list is endless. Then think about nuts and seeds, green powders, berry powders, protein powders, healthy fats, bioactive yoghhurt or kefir........again the list is endless. Be creative and vary it regularly. Today I had a handful of kale, large chunk of cucumber, 1/2 a banana, about 1/3 avocado, handful of blueberries, 5 or 6 mint leaves, frozen coconut chunks (Tesco freezer section), chunk of ginger, tbsp Udo Omega Oil, tsp green powder and a sprinkle of seed mix (ground flax, sunflower, pumpkin & sesame - Linwoods Organic) along with 300ml coconut milk - colour wasn't great but it tasted delicious! Go for it - a smoothie is a great way to get in your fruit and veggies and makes for a great brekkie, snack or lunch.
